Chicago talks about the American Dream and the rags to riches story that was the dream of the immigrants traveling into the country. They talk about the hard work of the city and how there is a darkness everywhere. This is similar to my story but in a different type of way these magi are not in search of the American dream but baby Jesus is in a way that rags to riches story that was a big part of the American Dream. The magi had to make a tough journey but this was once the workers in Chicago struggled throughout their lives.
Both of our poems have no particular rhyme scheme, which I think is pretty common for modernism writing. Our poems are written in the same style, but are very different when it comes to the themes. Your poem has a much happier tone than the sad tone my poem takes.
Our poems are completely different. Honestly, I do not see any similarities in them. Firstly, your poem is written in free verse, whereas mine is written with a rhyme scheme. Also, yours has much detail and describes a city. My poem has little detail, but is a very emotional and passionate poem, which demands the reader to have feelings along with reading it, unlike yours which seems to be a little more dry and detail oriented.
